This is a review on the PMI-RMP Prepkit Course Version 5, first published in 2018.

You should purchase study materials if you plan to take the PMI Risk Management Professional(r) credential. The Practice Standard for Project Risk Management is not a riveting read, so PMI recommends that you also review self-study materials.
There are many study aids available on the market. uCertify has an online ‘prepkit,’ boasting a 97% exam pass rate. I looked at the tools in greater detail.
The basics
Downloadable? No.PDUs? Not that I could find. A certificate of completion is issued once you have attained a readiness level of 90%. Free sample available? Yes.
Overview
The ebook covers all 4 areas of the exam and is easy to use.
Risk communication
Risk analysis
Risk response planning
Risk governance.

You can search for topics, annotate them and add your own notes. Each chapter ends with a section called “next steps” that points you to the appropriate flash cards, exercises, quizzes, and exercises. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to jump between the chapters.
First, take the pre-course assessment. This will let you assess how much you know about risk management. I failed all the questions on risk governance and scored an embarrassing 60%. This gave me some direction on where to focus my efforts if the exam is going to be difficult.
My score on the pre-assessment testsTests and assessment
The comprehensive assessment feature is one of the best features of this training course. The test history and performance analytics module allows you to review your study habits, determine how long you have been studying and create a study plan. The study planner calculates if you can meet your exam date and be available for it given how much work you have been doing.
Test Analytics HomepageThere are many built-in quizzes, including flash cards, that you can use for self-evaluation. A quiz is 30 questions long, while an exercise is 140. You can choose to take a quiz or an activity in ‘learn’ mode and then review the answers you have missed. You can then take it in a ‘test’ mode to see how you do. No matter how many questions you answer, the test takes 120 minutes. However, you can manually adjust the time per test to beat the clock or remove the pressure.
Summary
This is a cost-effective way to study for the exam. I was also impressed by the quality of the materials. It would be great to be able download the course book as well as flash cards to study offline. I find it difficult to read long text on a screen, but this works for others.
I tried very hard to find something that I could improve on this course, but I couldn’t. I wasn’t expecting much as I had never heard of the company, but I was surprised at how useful the materials were and I believe they will help me pass the exam. This is the part I haven’t done yet (and I don’t have any plans to do it either), so I can’t make a final judgment on whether the prepkit alone would suffice to help me pass. It would, if combined with the Practice Standard. I would love to hear your thoughts. What preparation methods did you use to prepare yourself for the exam if you are a PMI RMP?
